Resplendent Quetzal Part 2

It was way up in the canopy, pushing my puny camera to the max but SO worth it..

Resplendent Quetzal Part 1

Stacy and I were super fortunate to get to see a quetzal in the Monteverde area during this September. Not at the main reserves but at a local wildlife refuge in Santa Elena with the help of a great local guide - Marvin. Awesome!

Hourglass Treefrog

We took a really interesting night hike, with a great guide (Inti) at the Arenal Oasis in La Fortuna and saw lots of frogs, of which this is just one. Took this one with Stacy's small waterproof camera thanks to the pouring rain..

Lost in the Canopy

On a hike, Stacy pointed out a emerald toucanet way, way up in the canopy.. This definitely maxed out the small bridge camera..

Green Heron fishing

On a trip near Cano Negro, we witnessed a green-backed heron using a katydid as a fishing lure...

Tent Bats

A small group of elusive, roosting tent-bats on the underside of a heliconia leaf.

Just a place to put some photos...

I really like nature so I added this blog as a place to share some photos of animals and plants I've taken.

Enjoy!
